What Should I Do If My Salesforce Org Migrates to Gov Cloud?
Question
I migrated my existing Salesforce org to Salesforce Gov Cloud, and the My Domain URL changed. My Fivetran connection uses OAuth2.0 authentication. Do I need to update my connection settings or create a new connection?
Environment
- Connector: Salesforce
- Authentication method: OAuth2.0
Answer
If you migrated an existing Salesforce org to Salesforce Gov Cloud, you only need to reauthorize the existing connection. You do not need to update any domain or URL fields in Fivetran or create a new connection.
To re-authorize an existing connection:
- Log out of Salesforce in all browser tabs.
- Open a private or incognito browser window.
- Open the connection in Fivetran.
- Select the Setup tab.
- Click Edit connection.
- Click Re-Authorize Connection.
- Log in using your Salesforce Gov Cloud credentials.
- Click Save & Test.
If the Salesforce login page shows Use Custom Domain, click it, enter your Gov Cloud My Domain, and approve the Fivetran app when prompted. If reauthorization fails, confirm that the Fivetran connected app is present and approved in your Gov Cloud org.
Reauthorization refreshes authentication and allows syncs to continue. Your existing data and sync history are preserved.
