Setup guide
Follow our step-by-step Square setup guide to connect Square with your destination using Fivetran connectors.
Sync overview
We incrementally sync the following tables to capture new records.
ADDITIONAL_REFUND_RECIPIENTGIFT_CARD_ACTIVITYREFUNDSHIFTSHIFT_BREAK
We also re-import these tables to capture updates and deletes.
The re-import frequency depends on the duration of the last re-import for the table:
- If the last re-import took less than 2 hours, we re-import the table once a day.
- If the last re-import took more than 2 hours, we re-import the table once a week on Saturdays.
Sync notes
The Cash Drawer Shifts endpoint filters records by the opened_at timestamp rather than the time when a shift was last updated. As a result, we may not capture a status update for a previously synced shift when it changes from OPEN to CLOSED.
To capture these updates, we use a 48-hour lookback window and re-sync shifts opened within the previous two days. Most cash drawer shifts close within 24 hours, so this lookback window captures status updates for most shifts.
Schema information
This schema applies to all Square connections.
Limitations
Due to a limitation of the Cash Drawer Shifts API, Fivetran cannot capture the transition from OPEN to CLOSED for shifts that remain open for more than 48 hours.
