Asana Setup Guide
Follow our setup guide to connect Asana to Fivetran.
Prerequisites
To connect Asana to Fivetran, you need access to an active Asana account.
Setup instructions
- In the connection setup form, enter your chosen destination schema name.
- Choose an authentication method:
- OAuth (recommended)
- Click Authorize.
- You will be redirected to the Asana login page where you can log in to your account.
- Personal Access Token
- In Asana, go to your developer console and create a new Personal Access Token (PAT). For more information, see Asana documentation on generating a PAT.
- Copy the token and paste it into the Personal Access Token field in the connection setup form.
- Click Validate Personal Access Token.
- OAuth (recommended)
- Choose the sync mode: Sync All Projects or Sync Specific Projects. This option appears after you authorize with OAuth or validate your Personal Access Token.
- If you chose Sync Specific Projects, select the projects that you'd like to sync.
- (Optional) Set the Show Advanced Options toggle to ON to filter the list of projects by specified Team ID.
- Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your Asana data.
Regardless of the authentication method used, the Asana API only returns Portfolios for which the authenticated user is the owner. If your account is not the owner of a Portfolio, that Portfolio's data will not be synced.
