Error: We Don't Have Sufficient Permissions to Query Get_Journal_Requests

Issue

Connection setup tests fail with the following error:

Unable to connect to API: We don't have sufficient permissions to query Get_Journals_Request. Please check setup guide and enable relevant permissions.

Environment

Resolution

To resolve this issue, enable all required Financial Management security domains in your Workday configuration.

Cause

This issue occurs when one or more Financial Management security domains are not enabled in Workday. During setup tests, Fivetran makes an API request to the Get_Journals_Request endpoint. The API returns a 500 Internal Server Error response when the required security domains are not enabled.

The Get_Journals_Request SOAP API relies on data from the following domains:

• Organization
• Currency
• Journal_Source
• Journal_Entry
• Ledger
• Worktags
• Hierarchies related to financial and organizational domains
