Why Are followers_by_country and followers_by_gender null on Most Dates?

Why are the followers_by_country and followers_by_gender columns in the TIKTOK_PROFILE_ANALYTIC table populated only at 30-day intervals and null on other dates?

Answer

This behavior is expected. Sprout Social provides followers_by_country and followers_by_gender as lifetime snapshots, not daily values. The API associates each snapshot with the end date in the request and returns null values for the other dates in that response.

Fivetran performs rollback syncs for TIKTOK_PROFILE_ANALYTIC with a 365-day rollback window. We retrieve the data in 30-day increments, so these columns are populated only for the dates associated with those requests. The first populated date corresponds to when Fivetran initially retrieves the data from Sprout Social.
