Syncs Run for More Than 24 Hours
Issue
A Pinterest Ads connection sync runs for more than 24 hours without displaying an error.
Environment
Connector: Pinterest Ads
Resolution
To resolve this issue, check whether the PIN_APP_TYPE_REPORT table is required for downstream use. If the table isn't required, remove it from your connection schema:
- In Fivetran, go to the Pinterest Ads connection page.
- Select the Schema tab.
- Deselect the checkbox next to the
PIN_APP_TYPE_REPORTtable. - Click Save Changes.
If the table is required or the sync remains slow, contact our support team.
Cause
Syncing the PIN_APP_TYPE_REPORT table generates a high volume of per-pin requests to the Pinterest rate-limited analytics endpoint /v5/pins/{pin_id}/analytics. Frequent throttling causes the connection to spend much of the sync waiting for the rate limit to reset.
During a large historical sync, repeated Rescheduled log entries are expected. Our priority-first sync framework periodically checkpoints and reschedules historical sync, so these entries don't necessarily indicate rate limiting.
A large historical sync window or multiple tools sharing the same Pinterest API quota may also increase the sync duration.
