Error: You Are Not Authorized to Access This Resource

Issue

The following error appears in Fivetran:

You are not authorized to access this resource.

The following scopes are already added to the authenticating user's OneTrust OAuth 2.0 credentials:

• ATTACHMENT_READ
• BULK_EXPORT
• SCIM
• USER
• DSAR_READ

Resolution

To resolve this issue, add the CONSENT_READ or CONSENT scope to the authenticating user's OneTrust OAuth 2.0 credentials. For instructions, see the OneTrust OAuth 2.0 documentation.

After adding the missing scope, re-test your connection:

1. In Fivetran, go to your OneTrust connection page.
2. Select the Setup tab.
3. Click Edit connection.
4. Click Save & Test.

Cause

This issue occurs when the CONSENT_READ or CONSENT scope is missing from the authenticating user's OneTrust OAuth 2.0 credentials. Without it, OneTrust blocks access to consent-related endpoints.
