OneTrust Setup Guide Lite In Dev
Follow our setup guide to connect OneTrust to Fivetran.
Prerequisites
To connect OneTrust to Fivetran, you need an active OneTrust account.
Find Subdomain
Find your subdomain name in your OneTrust URL, and make a note of it. For example, if your OneTrust URL is https://fivetran.onetrust.com/s/profile/data
, your subdomain name is fivetran.onetrust.com
.
Create Client Credentials
In order to access the OneTrust application, you will need to enter the OneTrust URL for the application environment you use in the address bar of your browser. The Login screen will appear, where you will enter your login credentials for the OneTrust application.
Note that your application environment URL, such as
app.onetrust.com
oruat-de.onetrust.com
, is different than the myOneTrust URL,my.onetrust.com
. Login credentials for these URLs are configured separately with the environment URL directing you to the OneTrust application and the myOneTrust URL directing you to myOneTrust, the official online community for OneTrust users, partners, and experts.Click the gear icon (Settings icon) in the upper right-hand corner to access Global Settings.
On the Global Settings menu, select Access Management >> Client Credentials. The Credentials screen appears.
Click the Add button. The Client Credentials section of the Add Client Credential screen appears.
In the Name field, enter a name for the client credential.
In the Description field, enter a description for the client credential.
In the Access Token Lifetime field, select the amount of time that should pass before the access token expires.
Restrict IP Addresses is optional setting to restrict incoming communication to specific IP addresses. If this setting is enabled, enter an IP address in the Restrict IP Addresses field that appears. You can enter multiple IP addresses by clicking the Add icon button and entering an additional IP address in the field that appears.
Click the Next button. The Scope section appears.
Select one or multiple checkboxes to indicate the scope that matches the level of access you want to grant to an application.
Click the Create button. The Client ID and Secret section appears.
In the Download Credential field, click the Download button. A .txt file containing the Client ID and Client Secret details will get downloaded in your local system. Make a note of the Client ID and Client Secret. You will need them to configure Fivetran.
The Client ID and Client Secret details should be saved to a secure location.
Click the Close button.
If you face any difficulty in finding your Subdomain or getting Client Credentials, refer to OneTrust's documentation or contact their Support Team.
