Matomo Setup Guide Lite

Follow our setup guide to connect Matomo to Fivetran.

Prerequisites

To connect Matomo to Fivetran, you need a Matomo account.

Setup instructions

Create auth token

Log in to your Matomo account.
In the top right corner, click the settings icon.
On the navigation menu, go to Personal > Security.
In the Auth tokens section, click CREATE NEW TOKEN.
Enter your Mamoto account Password and click CONFIRM.
Enter a description for your token and click CREATE NEW TOKEN.
Make a note of the token. You will need it to configure Fivetran.

Find subdomain

Find your subdomain in your Matomo account URL and make a note of it. You will need it to configure Fivetran. For example, if your account URL is https://fivetran.matomo.cloud/index.php, then your subdomain is fivetran.matomo.cloud.

Finish Fivetran configuration

In the connector setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
Enter the Auth token you created.
Enter the Subdomain you found.
(Hybrid Deployment only) If your destination is configured for Hybrid Deployment, the Hybrid Deployment Agent associated with your destination is pre-selected in the Select an existing agent drop-down menu. To use a different agent, select the agent of your choice, and then select the same agent for your destination.
Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your Matomo data.
