Error: Check Columns, Dimensions, and Dimension Attributes for Compatibility

Issue

While setting up a connection, the following error appears:

Unable to fetch the report. Check Columns, Dimensions, and Dimension Attributes for compatibility with the report type being fetched. Incompatible Dimensions and Columns selected:

Resolution

To resolve this issue, do the following:

1. Review the Google Ad Manager documentation on dimension and metric compatibility to confirm which dimensions, metrics, and attributes can be used together in a report.

2. In Fivetran, update your report configuration to include only those dimensions, metrics, and attributes that are compatible.

   i. Go to your Google Ad Manager connection page.

   ii. Select the Setup tab.

   iii. Click Edit connection.

   iv. Find your report, then click Edit.

   v. Ensure the Dimensions, Dimension attributes, Columns Custom fields, and Custom dimensions are all compatible.

   vi. Click Save.

   vii. Click Save & Test.

Cause

This issue occurs the metrics and dimensions included in your report are incompatible.
