Google Ad Manager Setup Guide
Follow our setup guide to connect Google Ad Manager to Fivetran.
Prerequisites
To connect Google Ad Manager to Fivetran, you need a Google Ad Manager account.
If you choose the Fivetran-managed service account authentication method, you also need the Administrator role in your Google Ad Manager network, so you can grant the Fivetran service account access.

Find Network Code
Go to your Ad Manager network.
Find your network code in the URL when you are logged into your network. For example, in the URL
https://www.google.com/dfp/2032576#delivery,2032576is the network code.Make a note of your network code. You will need it to fill in your connection setup form.
Enable API Access
Fivetran accesses your data using APIs. Follow Google's instructions to ensure that API access is enabled.
Begin Fivetran configuration
In the connection setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
Choose your Authentication method:
OAuth (recommended): Allows Fivetran to access your Google Ad Manager account using your Google user account. Click Authorize to allow Fivetran access to your Google Ad Manager account.
Fivetran-managed service account: Allows Fivetran to access your Google Ad Manager account using a service account managed by Fivetran. To authenticate with a Fivetran-managed service account:
You must have the Administrator role in your Google Ad Manager network.
- Click Copy next to the Service account email field to copy the service account email displayed in the Fivetran connection setup form.
- In a new browser tab, log in to your Google Ad Manager network.
- Go to Admin > Global settings.
- On the Network settings tab, ensure that API access is enabled.
- Click Add a service account user.
- Enter a Name for the user, for example,
Fivetran. - In the Email field, enter the service account email you copied from the Fivetran connection setup form.
- Select a Role that allows the user to view and run the reports you want to sync.
- Click Save.
- Return to the Fivetran connection setup form and click Test Fivetran-managed service account access to verify that Fivetran can access your Google Ad Manager data. Once the test is successful, the remaining configuration fields appear.

In the Historical Sync Time Frame drop-down menu, select how many months' worth of reporting data you'd like to include in your initial sync.
Enter the Network code that you found in Step 1.
Add report
Click + Add report.
Enter the Destination table name. The name must be unique within this connection and must comply with Fivetran's naming conventions.
Give the table a name you will find easy to identify with the report in the future. When you want to enable or disable the sync for a particular report once it is set up, you can do so by selecting or deselecting its table in the connection's Schema tab in your Fivetran dashboard.
Select Ad unit view.
Select Report type:
- Historical: Syncs historical reporting data.
- Future sell-through: Syncs projected ad inventory availability and delivery forecasts for the next 90 days.
Select Dimensions, Dimension Attributes, Columns, Custom fields, and Custom dimensions.
The
DATEdimension is mandatory for reports.i. Select at least one Dimension in addition to
DATE.ii. Select at least one Column.
iii. Select the Custom fields corresponding to their Dimensions.
The number of Custom fields you select should not exceed 15.
iv. (Optional) Select the Custom dimensions.
The Custom dimensions option is only available if you selected the
CUSTOM_DIMENSIONdimension.Click Save.
Repeat the previous six steps if you want to add another Custom report.
Finish Fivetran configuration
- Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your Google Ad Manager data.

Find Network Code
