data cause a MAR spike even when there are no actual updates?

Resolution
Zendesk Support internally updates a ticket's generated_timestamp
even when there are no actual updates in the TICKET
data. Since the timestamp is updated, Fivetran re-syncs the record, which may lead to a MAR spike.
