How Are Non-English Dataverse Display Names Mapped to Snowflake?
Question
How does Fivetran map Dataverse table and column names to Snowflake when the display names are in a language other than English?
Environment
- Connector: Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
- Destination: Snowflake
Answer
Fivetran uses the Dataverse logical names to create tables and columns in Snowflake. Logical names are typically in English, regardless of the display language used in the Dataverse UI, such as Japanese, French, or German. For more information, see the Microsoft documentation on Dataverse table definitions.
We also apply standard naming conventions to table and column names in the destination.
Example:
| Dataverse display name (Japanese) | Dataverse logical name | Destination column name |
|---|---|---|
| 顧客名 | customerName | customer_name |
