dbt Project Setup Guide

1. Create a dbt Project connection with a destination schema name.
2. Keep Source set to GitHub.
3. Choose Personal access token or SSH deploy key and provide a credential with repository read access.
4. Enter the Repository as owner/repository.
5. Choose the project's dbt adapter and add any required Environment variable values.
6. Click Save & Test, then select the connection in Fivetran AI Context Layer.

The connection starts paused. Context Layer indexing fetches the default branch, installs configured dbt dependencies, and runs dbt parse with a generated profile. No warehouse credentials are required for parsing.

All discovered projects must parse before their metadata is published. If parsing fails, the previous metadata remains available for retry. A successful snapshot replaces the previous metadata, including removing deleted projects.
