Alation Setup Guide Lite
Follow our setup guide to connect Alation to Fivetran.
Prerequisites
To connect Alation to Fivetran, you need:
- an Alation account on the cloud native architecture
- your Alation base URL
You can find your base URL in your Alation URL. For example, if your Alation URL is
https://fivetran.alationcloud.com, then your base URL ishttps://fivetran.alationcloud.com. - an OAuth client application registered in Alation for this connection
- the client ID and client secret of the OAuth client application
Setup instructions
In the connection setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
Enter your Alation Base URL.
Enter the Client ID and Client secret of the OAuth client application registered in Alation.
(Hybrid Deployment only) If your destination is configured for Hybrid Deployment, the Hybrid Deployment Agent associated with your destination is pre-selected for the connection. To assign a different agent, click Replace agent, select the agent you want to use, and click Use Agent.
Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your Alation data.
