Why Are Older Records Missing From Reporting Tables?
Question
Why do YouTube Analytics reporting tables, such as CHANNEL_BASIC_A2, contain missing or incomplete historical data?
Environment
Connector: YouTube Analytics
Answer
YouTube Analytics uses two APIs:
- Data API: Fetches complete historical data for metadata tables, such as
VIDEO. - Reporting API: Populates reporting tables, such as
CHANNEL_BASIC_A2, but doesn't support full historical backfill.
For tables that use the Reporting API, Fivetran creates a reporting job. YouTube can provide reports for up to 30 days before the reporting job creation date. Records older than that are not available in those reporting tables in your destination. For more information, see YouTube Reporting Historical Data.
