Lite Connector Security & Legal Terms and Conditions
Secure access to your data during Lite connector build
Security is a major concern for Fivetran. Fivetran uses a variety of strong security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access:
- Our single sign-on provider controls data access by enforcing permission validation, deny by default, separation of duties, and Defense-in-Depth.
- We mandate multi-factor authentication to access production networks for securing consumer identities and preventing authentication bypass.
- We securely log and monitor all access to correlate and investigate relevant security events like unhandled exceptions, authentication or authorization failures, brute force attempts, etc.
- The environment is ephemeral and all data is deleted after seven days.
- We follow the principle of least access control. Only engineers working on building this connector have access to your data.
- We use strong cryptographic standards to preserve the confidentiality and integrity of data at rest, in transit, and in memory.
- Fivetran employees are unable to copy data out of this environment.
- We use this access to verify how the data is returned from the source and confirm that we are writing it correctly to your destination.
Legal Terms and Conditions
By accepting these Terms, Customer (“Customer”, “You”, “Your”) authorizes Fivetran to access its data using the credentials You have provided. Your authorization, and Fivetran’s access, during the Lite connector build is governed by the following terms which are incorporated into and subject to the terms of the Master Subscription Agreement, Order Form, and any other agreement between the parties:
Lite connector Build
Fivetran offers all customers access to a catalog of Lite connectors. Lite connectors, however developed, are not custom connectors exclusive to You or any other customer. Fivetran may, in its sole discretion, elect to develop, market, or otherwise make available Lite connectors that incorporate Lite connector requests submitted through this process, however it is under no obligation to do so. By granting Fivetran access to Your data related to the Lite connector in question, You are allowing Fivetran to validate the Lite connector during the build process. Once the Lite connector is completed, Fivetran may make it generally available for all customers.
Authorized Access
Customer hereby grants Fivetran access to its data to validate the Lite connector as it is being built (the “Authorization”). Such access will be limited to only what is necessary to validate the Lite connector in question.
Revocation and Extension of Authorization
Your Authorization is valid for 60 days and will automatically expire on (i) the 61st day; (ii) when the Lite connector enters Private Preview; or (iii) upon Your revocation, whichever comes earliest. Customer has the right to terminate its Authorization at any time.
In the event the Lite connector in question cannot be completed within the initial authorization period, Fivetran may seek to extend the Authorization for an additional 21-day period or seek a renewed Authorization. You have sole discretion to extend or grant additional Authorizations.
Revoking the Authorization must be done either by deleting the Lite connector through the Fivetran dashboard, or by clicking the Revoke Access link displayed on the Lite connector Setup Page. Revocation will become effective within 24 hours of receipt, at such time Fivetran will no longer access Your data and will delete any credentials that may have been saved associated with Your Authorization.
Customer Warranty
You represent and warrant that You have the authority to grant the access described herein and that by doing so You are not violating the terms and conditions of any other agreement to which You are bound. If You are acting on behalf of a company or employer, or to the extent such party has rights in the data to which You are providing access, You represent that You are authorized by that party to grant the access and rights specified in these Terms. Furthermore, You agree that You will not disclose any data (including personal data) to Fivetran other than as reasonably necessary for Fivetran to validate the Lite connector in question.
Additionally, You acknowledge that You are not a contributing inventor to any invention(s) that may arise during Fivetran’s development of products or services. All intellectual property rights associated with the Lite connector in question will be owned exclusively by Fivetran. Even if You are found to be a contributing inventor, You promise to cooperate with Fivetran’s procurement of patents to the invention and relating to any transfer and/or assignment of ownership of any patent rights to the invention to Fivetran.
Term
These Terms shall apply from the date of acceptance and continue in full force and effect until (i) Customer terminates Fivetran’s access to its data or (ii) the date the Lite connector is made generally available to all customers. If termination occurs under either scenario, the MSA and other terms shall continue to apply.
Limitation of Liability
NOTWITHSTANDING ANY CONTRARY LANGUAGE IN THE MASTER SUBSCRIPTION AGREEMENT OR ORDER FORM, IN NO EVENT SHALL FIVETRAN, ITS AGENTS, ITS AFFILIATES AND ITS SUPPLIERS (INCLUDING DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, AND AGENTS) BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY LOSS OF USE, LOST OR INACCURATE DATA, INTERRUPTION OF BUSINESS, COSTS OF DELAY, LOST PROFITS, OR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR LITE CONNECTOR REQUEST, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY OF FIVETRAN, ITS AGENTS, ITS AFFILIATES, AND ITS SUPPLIERS (INCLUDING DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, AND AGENTS) TO YOU IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS AND YOUR LITE CONNECTOR REQUEST WILL NOT EXCEED $100.
