Showpad Setup Guide Lite Private Preview

Follow our setup guide to connect Showpad to Fivetran.

Prerequisites

To connect Showpad to Fivetran, you need a Showpad account with administrator access to Showpad's online platform.

Setup instructions

Find subdomain

Find your account's subdomain in your Showpad URL and make a note of it. For example, if your Showpad URL is https://fivetran.showpad.biz/api/v3, then your subdomain is fivetran.

Register an OAuth2 application

1. Login into your Showpad account.
2. Navigate to Admin Settings and open API menu.
3. Click the Manage OAuth Clients.
4. Click the + icon to add a new OAuth2 Client.
5. In the Edit OAuth Client form, enter your client details:
   • Name - A descriptive name to identify the client.
   • Redirect URL - Enter https://fivetran.com/integrations/showpad/oauth2/return in the Redirect URI field.
   • Description - Text to describe the client and its purpose.
   • Website - A website for context purposes. It doesn't affect the functioning of the OAuth client.
   • Scope - Select the checkbox to indicate the client's scope.
     • Automatically refresh access tokens
     • View user releated resources
     • View content related resources
     • View division releated resourcres
   • Refresh Token Lifetime - Specify the length of the client's token.

     TIP: Select the longest period.

6. When you've finished, click the Update button.
7. Make a note of the client ID and client secret. You will need them to configure Fivetran.

Note: If you can't register an application or find subdomain, please reach out to Showpad Support.

Finish Fivetran configuration

1. In the connector setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
2. Enter the Subdomain you found.
3. Enter the Client ID and Client secret you registered.
4. Click Authorize to allow Fivetran to access your Showpad account using OAuth. You will be redirected to your showpad account to authorize Fivetran's access.
5. Log in to your Showpad account. Once you have finished, you will be redirected back to Fivetran.
6. (Hybrid Deployment only) If your destination is configured for Hybrid Deployment, the Hybrid Deployment Agent associated with your destination is pre-selected in the Select an existing agent drop-down menu. To use a different agent, select the agent of your choice, and then select the same agent for your destination.
7. Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your data from your Showpad account.
