HelpDesk Setup Guide Lite In Dev
Follow our setup guide to connect HelpDesk to Fivetran.
Prerequisites
To connect HelpDesk to Fivetran, you need a HelpDesk account.
Setup instructions
Create App and Credentials
Login to HelpDesk with an administrator account.
Navigate to the Developer Console and go to the Build an app section.
Enter the required details to create the app.
In the left-hand menu, go to Blocks, click Add Building Blocks, and select App Authorization.
Choose Server-side app as the app type.
Add the following URL to the Redirect URI whitelist field:
https://fivetran.com/integrations/helpdesk/oauth2/return
Under Access scopes section, select the below listed scopes.
accounts--all:ro
accounts.roles--all:ro
sessions--my:ro
agents--all:ro
access_rules:ro
agents-bot--all:ro
groups--all:ro
chats--all:ro
tags--all:ro
Click Save Changes button to generate Client ID and Client secret.
Make a note of the Client ID and Client secret. You will need them to configure Fivetran.
Note : If you face any difficulties in creating App or Credentials please reach to HeloDesk Support.
Finish Fivetran configuration
- In the connector setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
- Enter the Client ID and Client secret you [created] (#createappandcredentials).
- Click Authorize to allow Fivetran access to your HelpDesk account using OAuth. You will be redirected to your HelpDesk account to authorize Fivetran's access.
IMPORTANT: We recommend logging in while in Incognito mode to ensure authorization of the correct account.
- (Hybrid Deployment only) If your destination is configured for Hybrid Deployment, the Hybrid Deployment Agent associated with your destination is pre-selected in the Select an existing agent drop-down menu. To use a different agent, select the agent of your choice, and then select the same agent for your destination.
- Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your HelpDesk data.
