Reddit Ads Setup Guide

Follow our setup guide to connect Reddit Ads to Fivetran.

Prerequisites

To connect Reddit Ads to Fivetran, you need an active Reddit Ads account.

You need to grant Fivetran the following permissions:

• adsread - Read advertising data through your account.
• identity - Access your Reddit username and signup date.

IMPORTANT: You must safelist both your user and advertiser accounts to access the Reddit Ads API. If you have not safelisted both accounts, you will see the following message in the setup test: This account is not allowed to use the API. If that occurs, contact Reddit Ads Support.

Setup instructions

Begin Fivetran configuration

1. In the connector setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
2. Click Authorize to authorize Reddit to log in through OAuth.

   IMPORTANT: We recommend logging in while in Incognito mode to ensure authorization of the correct account.

3. Select your sync mode:
   • Select Sync All Accounts to sync all accounts you have access to.
   • Select Sync Specific Accounts to sync specific accounts only. Under Accounts, select the accounts you'd like to sync.

(Optional) Add Custom report

1. Click + Add report.

2. Enter your Report name. It must be unique within this connector and must comply with Fivetran's naming conventions.

3. Select a Level for the report. Select NONE if you don't want to use a level in your report.

4. Select a Segmentation for the report. Select NONE if you don't want to use segmentation in your report.

5. Select your report's data time zone:

   • Select Use account time zone to sync the report based on your Reddit Ads account's time zone.
   • Select Use custom time zone to sync the report based on the time zone you'd like. Specify your choice in the Time zone drop-down menu.

6. (Optional) Select the fields you'd like to include in the custom report. If you don't select any field, then all available fields will be included in the report.

7. Set the Include event conversions data toggle to ON if you want to sync event conversions data.

   • (Optional) Select the events you'd like to include in the custom conversions report. If you don't select any field, then all available fields will be included in the report.
   • Set the Include custom events toggle to ON if you want to sync custom events conversions data as well.

   TIP: Repeat the previous seven steps if you want to add another Custom report.

Finish Fivetran configuration

1. In the Historical Sync Time Frame drop-down, select how many months' worth of reporting data you'd like to include in your initial sync.

   IMPORTANT: The Reddit Ads API retains only 12 months' worth of reporting data. Fivetran cannot sync data older than that.

2. Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync data from your Reddit Ads account.
