How Does Fivetran Handle Custom Field Name Changes?
Question
If I rename a custom field, how will Fivetran handle the change? For example, will Fivetran create a new column or perform a historical re-sync?
Environment
Connector: HubSpot
Answer
When you change a custom field's name, we sync all data following the change to a new column reflecting the updated name. We maintain the old column and its values, though we populate it with null
values for new records.
We don't perform a historical re-sync when you update a custom field's name. To backfill the new column's data, do the following:
- In Fivetran, go to your HubSpot connector page.
- Select the Schema tab.
- Hover over the applicable table's row, then click Resync.
- In the confirmation pop-up window, click Start re-sync.
