Betterworks Setup Guide Lite

Follow our setup guide to connect Betterworks to Fivetran.

Prerequisites

To connect Betterworks to Fivetran, you need the following:

• A Betterworks account
• A user account with the super admin role

NOTE:

• Make sure you log in to Betterworks at least once using the user account you want Fivetran to use.
• To avoid API issues, we recommend that you use a user account that is not associated with any actual user.

Setup instructions

Generate API key

1. Log in to your Betterworks account.
2. Go to Admin > Platform Configuration > Betterworks API.
3. In the User drop-down menu, select the user account you want Fivetran to use to access your Betterworks data.
4. Enter a Name for your API key.
5. Click GENERATE KEY.
6. Make a note of the API key that appears in the Active keys section. You will need it to configure Fivetran.

Find subdomain

Find your subdomain in your Betterworks URL. For example:

• If your URL is https://app.betterworks.com/api/, then your subdomain is app.
• If your URL is https://preview.betterworks.com/api/ is your URL, then your subdomain is preview.

Finish Fivetran configuration

1. In the connector setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.

2. Enter the API Key you generated.

3. Enter the Subdomain you found.

4. (Hybrid Deployment only) If your destination is configured for Hybrid Deployment, the Hybrid Deployment Agent associated with your destination is pre-selected in the Select an existing agent drop-down menu. To use a different agent, select the agent of your choice, and then select the same agent for your destination.

5. Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your Betterworks data.
