Marketo Setup Guide
Follow our setup guide to connect Marketo to Fivetran.
To connect Marketo to Fivetran, you need:
- Admin access for your Marketo account
- BULK API call limit
- Approximate number of emails sent per day
To find the necessary account information and to configure permissions for Marketo, follow these instructions:
Endpoint and Identity parameters
Log in to Marketo.
Click Web Services.
Copy the Endpoint and Identity parameters from the REST API section. Enter these values in the Endpoint and Identity fields of your connector setup form.
Similarly, copy the Endpoint, User ID, and Encryption Key values from the SOAP API section and store them somewhere secure. Enter these values in the SOAP Endpoint, User ID, and Encryption Key fields of your connector setup form.
Go back to Admin and click LaunchPoint.
Client ID and Client Secret
If you don't already have a REST Service set up, first follow these instructions to setup a Custom Service.
Once you have a REST Service set up, copy the Client Id and Client Secret parameters. Enter these values in the Client ID and Client Secret fields of your connector setup form.
Some endpoints in the Marketo API require specific role permissions. When you finish your Fivetran configuration and click Save & Test, we will test if you have sufficient permissions. If you don't have sufficient permissions for the endpoints you're using, you will get an error.
Finish Fivetran Configuration
Enter your chosen destination schema name in the connector setup form.
Enter the BULK API call limit.
Enter the approximate number of emails sent per day.
Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your data from your Marketo account.
If you get a permissions error after you click Save & Test, you need to adjust permissions for your Marketo API user. See the Marketo role permissions documentation to learn how.
