Google Search Console Setup Guide
Follow our setup guide to connect Google Search Console to Fivetran.
Prerequisites
To connect Google Search Console to Fivetran, you need:
- A Google Search Console account set up with you as a verified owner of the sites.
- Access to your Google Search Console sites with a
Full User
orOwner
role.
Setup instructions
Begin Fivetran configuration
In the connector setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
Click Authorize to allow Fivetran access to your Google Search Console account.
Select the Sites sync mode you want to use:
- Select Sync all sites to automatically sync all sites you have access to. New sites added to your account are automatically synced.
- Select Sync specific sites to sync specific sites only. You will need to select at least one site from the SiteUrl list.
(Optional) Add Custom report
If you want to sync a Custom report:
Click Add custom report.
Enter your chosen destination table name. It must be unique within this connector and must comply with Fivetran's naming conventions.
NOTE: To disable the sync for a particular Custom report once it is set up, deselect its table in the connector's schema on the Schema tab of the connector details page.
Select one of the available report types.
- If you select the Search Results report type, select one or more search types.
Select one or more dimensions.
IMPORTANT: You must select the
date
dimension because the reports are synced by day. Reports without thedate
dimension are not supported. - (Optional) If you select the Search Results report type, select one of the available aggregation types. - Click Save to add the custom report.TIP: Repeat the previous four steps if you want to add another Custom report.
Finish Fivetran configuration
In the Historical Sync Time Frame drop-down, select how many months' worth of reporting data you'd like to include in your initial sync.
NOTE: The Google Search Console API only returns reporting data for the last 16 months. We cannot sync older data.
Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your data from your Google Search Console account.
