How Much Historical Data Can I Sync?
Question
How much historical data can I sync for my Facebook Ads connector?
Environment
Connector: Facebook Ads
Answer
Initial and historical syncs
While setting up a new connector, you can use the Historical Sync Time Frame drop-down to determine how much historical data is included in your initial and historical syncs. See our Facebook Ads setup guide for more information. You can choose from the following options:
3 months
6 months
12 months
24 months
ALL TIME
We request data from Facebook's API using the parameter date_preset = maximum
, which returns a maximum of 37 months' worth of data. As a result, if you select the ALL TIME
option, the maximum amount of historical data we can sync is 37 months. See Facebook's Ad Insights API documentation for more information.
NOTE: Once you have set up your Facebook Ads connector, you can no longer adjust the Historical Sync Time Frame drop-down value.
Incremental syncs
We sync updated data from the past seven days during incremental syncs. Your connector's Sync frequency setting determines how often we incrementally sync data. For more information, see our Sync frequency and scheduling documentation.
Rollback syncs
Once a day, at 3 a.m. in your local timezone, rollback syncs capture the changes that happen outside the incremental sync time frame. The rollback window for custom and pre-built reports is determined by each report's Click Attribution Window and View Attribution Window settings. For more information, see our Facebook Ads Rollback sync documentation.
New fields
We don't automatically sync historical data when you add a new field to your connector's schema. To get historical data for a new field, you must perform a historical re-sync. Your connector's Historical Sync Time Frame setting determines how much historical data you can get.
