Datadog Setup Guide Lite
Follow our setup guide to connect Datadog to Fivetran.
Prerequisites
To connect Datadog to Fivetran, you need a Datadog account with API access and Administrator permissions.
Setup instructions
Create Custom Base URL
- Log in to your Datadog account.
- Find the base URL in your Datadog URL:
- If your Datadog URL is
https://app.datadoghq.com
then select US1. - If your Datadog URL is
https://us3.datadoghq.com
then select US3. - If your Datadog URL is
https://us5.datadoghq.com
then select US5. - If your Datadog URL is
https://app.datadoghq.eu
then select EU1. - If your Datadog URL is
https://app.ddog-gov.com
then select US1-FED. - If your Datadog URL is
https://ap1.datadoghq.com
then select AP1 (Japan). - If the base URL is not listed above, select the "Custom" option and enter your base URL accordingly.

Create application key
- Log in to your Datadog account.
- Go to Organization Settings > Application Keys.
- Click New Key.
- Make a note of the key. You will need it to configure Fivetran.
Create API key
- Go to Organization Settings > API keys.
- Click New Key.
- Enter a name for your API key.
- Click Create API key.
- Make a note of the API key. You will need it to configure Fivetran.
Finish Fivetran configuration
- In the connector setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
- In the drop-down menu, select the Base URL you found.
- Enter the Application key you created.
- Enter the API key you created.
- (Hybrid Deployment only) If your destination is configured for Hybrid Deployment, the Hybrid Deployment Agent associated with your destination is pre-selected in the Select an existing agent drop-down menu. To use a different agent, select the agent of your choice, and then select the same agent for your destination.
- Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your Datadog data.
