Why Does the Connector Need Read and Write Access to Jira?
Question
Why does the Jira connector need read and write access to Jira?
Environment
Connector: Jira
Answer
To read active issues data, all third-party data ingesting applications, including Fivetran, needs at least read permissions to Jira. Additionally, the connecting user needs read and write Admin-level access to capture data for deleted Jira issues. Read and write access enables our Jira connector to capture deleted issues and related entity data across the connector schema through the webhook endpoint.
Cause
To capture deleted issues, the connecting user must have administrative permissions. Otherwise, Fivetran cannot register the webhook.
