Facebook Ads Error: We Could Not Sync Data for Accounts
While setting up a new connection, the setup test fails with the following error:
We could not sync data for the following accounts.
Environment: Fivetran's Facebook Ads and Instagram Business connectors, which use the same API for account retrieval and authentication.
What causes the We could not sync data for accounts
error?
This error appears when too many source accounts are associated with the connecting user.
How to resolve the We could not sync data for accounts
error?
To resolve this issue, do the following:
- Create a new Facebook system user.
- Assign the necessary permissions to the new user.
- Assign only the affected Facebook or Instagram accounts to the new user.
- In Fivetran, add a new connection and use the new system user credentials to authenticate it.
NOTE: If you create the new connection through the API, use an access token generated for the new system user.
