Facebook Ads Error: Skipping Ad Account Because It No Longer Exists
If you authenticated your Facebook Ads connection using the Grant User Access authentication method, you may encounter the following error:
permission_denied: Skipping Ad Account because it no longer exists in the Marketing Graph API
The error may reference one or more Facebook Ads accounts that we previously synced without issues. When this occurs, we stop syncing data from the affected accounts to the destination.
What causes the Skipping Ad Account
error?
This issue may occur when the user who had access to these accounts has been changed or removed.
How to resolve the Skipping Ad Account
error?
To resolve this issue, check who has access to the relevant accounts and re-authorize the connection with the right permissions by following the steps below:
- In Fivetran, go to your Facebook Ads connection page.
- In the top right, pause the connection by setting the ENABLED toggle to OFF.
- Select the Setup tab.
- Click Re-Authorize Connection.
- Log in with your Facebook user credentials.
- Click Save and Test.
- Resume the connection by setting the ENABLED toggle to ON.
To prevent this from occurring again, we recommend assigning the required permissions to a dedicated user just for Fivetran purposes.
