How to Resolve a Permissions Error

While completing a test connection for Google Analytics 360, I came across the permission error Dataset is not present / Permission to the service account is not enough.

Answer

This error most probably occurred because the associated dataset for the connector doesn't have the required permissions.

To resolve the issue, add the required permissions to the service account:

1. In the connector setup form, make a note of the unique auto-generated email address at the bottom of the setup form (for example, g-generated-account@fivetran-production.iam.gserviceaccount.com). You will need this email to configure your source system to sync with Fivetran.

2. Go to the Dataset section in your BigQuery account and select Share Dataset.

3. Check if the service account from Step 1 is present. If it's not, add it.

4. Check if the account has necessary permissions. If it doesn't, update the permissions.
