Samsara Setup Guide Lite

Follow our setup guide to connect Samsara to Fivetran.

Prerequisites

To connect Samsara to Fivetran, you need a Samsara account.

Log in to your Samsara account.
On the navigation menu, click Settings (gear) icon, and then click API Tokens.
Click add an API Token.
In the Add API Token page, do the following:
- Enter the name of the API token.
- Add tags to your API token to restrict its access to only the objects with the selected tags. By default, an API token is created with full access to the entire organization.
- Select the following scopes for your API token:
  - Read Addresses for Addresses endpoint.
  - Read Defects for Defect endpoint.
  - Read DVIRs for DVIR, Stream DVIR endpoint.
  - Read Safety Events & Scores for Safety event endpoint.
  - Read ELD Compliance Settings (US) for Driver HOS violation, HOS log, and HOS daily log endpoint.
  - Read Routes for Routes endpoint.
  - Read Documents for Documents endpoint.
  - Read Fuel & Energy for Vehicle idling report endpoint.
  - Read Alerts for Alert incident endpoint.
Click Generate Token.
Make a note of the API token. You will need it to configure Fivetran.

In the connection setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
Select the region of your Samsara account. Options are:
- EU: Select this option if your account region is Europe.
- Non-EU: Select this option if your account region is not in Europe.
Enter the Access Token you created in Step 1.
(Hybrid Deployment only) If your destination is configured for Hybrid Deployment, the Hybrid Deployment Agent associated with your destination is pre-selected in the Select an existing agent drop-down menu. To use a different agent, select the agent of your choice, and then select the same agent for your destination.
Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your Samsara data.
