SAP Business ByDesign Setup Guide link

Follow our setup guide to connect SAP Business ByDesign to Fivetran.
Prerequisiteslink
To connect SAP Business ByDesign to Fivetran, you need a SAP Business ByDesign Admin account.
Setup instructionslink
Create new communication systemlink
- Log in to SAP Business ByDesign with an Admin account.
- On the navigation menu, click Application and User Management.
- In the Input and Output Management tab, select Communication Systems.
- Click New.
- In the New Communication System page, enter the following details:
- ID: 'FIVETRAN'
- SAP Business Suite: Leave the checkbox unchecked
- Host Name: 'externalsystem'
- System Access Type: Select Internet
- Click Actions and select Set to Active.
- Click Save and Close.
Create communication scenariolink
- Go to the Input and Output Management tab and select Communication Scenarios.
- Click New.
- In the New Communication Scenario guided activity page, enter the Communication scenario name as 'FIVETRAN_DATA_LOADER'.
- Click Add Operations.
- In the pop-up window, sort the list based on service description.
- Check the Add Operation checkbox for all the service descriptions names that start with 'Query'.
- After adding all the operations, click Ok.
- Click Save and Close.
Create communication arrangementlink
- Go to the Input and Output Management tab and select Communication Arrangement.
- Click New.
- In the New Communication Arrangement guided activity page, select the 'FIVETRAN_DATA_LOADER' communication scenario you created in Step 2.
- In the System Instance ID field, select FIVETRAN and then click Next.
- Verify the technical details.
- Select the following details:
- Communication Method: Direct Communication
- Application Protocol: Web Service
- Authentication Method: User ID and Password
- User ID:
- Click Edit credentials and set a password. Make a note of the User ID and password. You will need them to configure Fivetran.
- Click Next and review the data you have entered.
- Click Finish.
- Click Close.
Find registered URLlink
In the connector setup form, make a note of the automatically-generated Registered URL. You will need it to configure webhook event notifications.
Setup event notificationlink
- In your SAP Business ByDesign account, go to the Input and Output Management tab and select Event Notification.
- Click New.
- Enter the following details:
- Name: FIVETRAN_WEBHOOK
- Endpoint: Enter the URL you found in Step 4
- Authentication Method: None
- Click Add Row.
- Click Business Object.
- Add and select the following business objects:
- AccountingEntry
- ActivityTask
- AppointmentActivity
- Campaign
- Customer
- CustomerInvoice
- CustomerQuote
- DirectDebitMandate
- EmailActivity
- Employee
- GoodsAndServiceAcknowledgement
- HouseBankStatement
- LabourResource
- PhoneCallActivity
- ProductDesign
- ProductRequirementSpecification
- ProductionLot
- PurchaseOrder
- PurchaseRequest
- PurchasingContract
- SalesOrder
- ServiceRequest
- Supplier
- SupplierInvoice
- TradeReceivablesPayablesAccount
- VehicleResource
- For all of the rows you added, select ROOT as the business object node and check the Deleted checkbox. For the CustomerInvoice business object, select CustomerInvoice as the business object node instead of ROOT.
- Click Activate and then click Close.
Finish Fivetran configurationlink
- In the connector setup form, enter the Destination schema name of your choice.
- Enter the Username from Step 3.
- Enter the Password you created in Step 3.
- Enter your Instance URL. Use the following format
https://my****.sapbydesign.com
. - Click Save & Test. Fivetran will take it from here and sync your data from your SAP Business ByDesign account.
