Error: Duplicates Detected, Use One of These Records
Issue
While syncing data to the Salesforce destination to create a new Account, Contact, or Lead object, the following error appears:
DUPLICATES_DETECTED:Use one of these records
Environment
Activations Destination: Salesforce
Resolution
To resolve this issue, take one of the following actions:
- Review your Salesforce duplicate rules and matching rules to identify why Salesforce flags the incoming record as a duplicate. If a duplicate rule blocks the sync ask your Salesforce admin to adjust or disable it for the authenticating Salesforce user.
- If your workflow requires syncing similar records to multiple Salesforce objects, use Activations Multi-destination syncs to sync to both Lead and Contact or both Lead and Account.
Cause
This issue occurs when your Salesforce duplicate rules identify a record Activations is trying to create as a match for an existing record.
Although Leads are separate objects from Contacts and Accounts, duplicate rules can compare records across objects, so a Lead may match an existing Contact or Account. Salesforce admins can also configure custom duplicate rules that make duplicate detection more restrictive.
