Error: Need Admin Approval

Issue

While authorizing a Microsoft Advertising connection in Fivetran Activations, the following error appears:

Need admin approval. Census for MS Advertising needs permission to access resources in your organization that only an admin can grant. Please ask an admin to grant permission to this app before you can use it.

Environment

Activations destination: Microsoft Advertising

Resolution

To resolve this issue, ask a Global Administrator or Cloud Application Administrator to approve the Census for MS Advertising app:

1. Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center.
2. Go to Entra ID > Enterprise apps.
3. Under Activity, select Admin consent requests.
4. On the My Pending tab, approve the request.

Cause

This issue occurs when your organization requires admin consent for third-party apps, and an administrator hasn't granted the permissions required by the Census for MS Advertising app. For more information, see the Microsoft documentation on admin consent requests.
