Error: F_JT0ECA: New Describe Tag for Table Contains a Different Data Type for Column
Issue
After a DDL statement changes a replicated column's data type, Integrate fails with the following error during high activity or a backlog on the source or target:
F_JT0ECA: New describe tag for table <table> contains a different data type for column <column>
Environment
- HVR 6
- Integrate method: BURST
Resolution
To resolve this issue:
- Set the CycleByteLimit parameter to
1on the Integrate action. - Activate the channel with the default options.
- Wait for the Integrate process to work through the router files individually and move past the file containing the DDL change.
- Reset CycleByteLimit to its original value, then activate the channel again.
Cause
This issue occurs when you run a DDL change that updates a column's data type, including its size, on the source database during high activity or a backlog on the source or target processes. When this happens, the changed data type can roll into multiple router files. Integrate then can't combine the different data types for the same column across those files, causing the process to fail, regardless of the AdaptDDL setting.
