Error: F_JT1456 Log Parsing Error F_JZ1153

Issue

When you activate a new channel with Oracle RDS as the source and an on-prem RAC system as the target, the Capture process fails with the following error:

F_JT1456: Log parsing error F_JZ1153. Internal error: The composite column is expected to have non-zero length.

Environment

• HVR 6 version 6.3.0/0
• Source: Oracle RDS
• Target: On-prem RAC system

Resolution

To resolve this issue, upgrade to HVR version 6.3.0/19, 6.3.5/8, 6.2.0/50, or a later version. For more information, see Upgrading HVR 6.

Cause

This issue occurs in affected HVR versions because Capture doesn’t correctly handle a specific row-chaining scenario.
