Deleting Location
This section describes the steps to delete a location.
A location can be deleted at a hub level or at a channel level.
- Hub-level deletion removes the location from a hub including all the channels containing this location. For more information, see Deleting Location from Hub.
- Channel-level deletion removes the location only from a specified channel. Such deletion is possible when the location is a member of a channel. To enable this option, on the Locations page, select the required channel in the All Channels selector.
The steps to perform channel-level deletion depend on whether a location is a member of a channel with activated replication or not:
If the location does not belong to any channel or is part of a channel(s) with non-activated replication, you can simply delete the location using option Delete Location on the Locations or Location Details page.
If the location is part of a channel(s) with activated replication, follow the steps described in section Deleting Location in Channel with Activated Replication.
In the Command Line Interface, this option corresponds to hvrlocationconfig -d.
Deleting Location from Channel with Activated Replication
Location name is used in various places in HVR Hub System, for example, it is mentioned in job names or the directory structure in the $HVR_CONFIG catalog. Deleting a location using the Delete Location option will delete the location from the channel definition, but it does not affect the existing jobs or the directories in the $HVR_CONFIG catalog. For this, you will need to deactivate replication for this location.
Perform the following steps to delete a location from the channel with activated replication:
On the left sidebar, click LOCATIONS.
On the Locations page, click the name of the location to be deleted to open its Location Details page.
On the Location Details page, navigate to the Channel Membership pane at the bottom.
Click the More Options icon related to the channel containing the location and select Deactivate Replication.
If a Refresh or Compare job is running on the location to be deleted, you need to suspend the job before deactivating and deleting the location.
Suspend the jobs running on the location:
- In the left sidebar, click Channels.
- On the Channels page, click the required channel name to open its Channel Details page.
- In the Jobs pane, suspend the jobs running on the location: click the More Options icon related to the job and select Suspend Job.
In the Deactivate Replication dialog, the required components for deactivation are set automatically. Click Deactivate Replication.
Click the More Options icon related to the channel containing the location and select Delete From Channel.
Deleting Location from Hub
Before deleting a location from a hub, you need to first deactivate replication for this location in all channels with activated replication. For this, perform steps 1-5 in section Deleting Location from Channel with Activated Replication.
After that, on the Location Details page, click the More Option icon at the top-right and select Delete Location from Hub.
You can also perform a hub-level deletion from the Locations page:
On the left sidebar, click LOCATIONS.
On the Locations page, click the More Options icon related to the location and select Delete Location From Hub.
