Oracle Sporadically Doesn't Process Archive Logs

Issue

HVR Capture finds Oracle archive logs but does not capture data from them.

Environment

• HVR 6
• Source: Oracle RAC

Resolution

To troubleshoot this issue:

1. In Oracle, verify that the archive path is defined.
2. If the archive path is external, confirm it is defined in the HVR location properties.
3. For Oracle RAC environments, verify that archive logs from all secondary RAC nodes are copied to the external archive path.

Cause

This issue occurs when the archive path is not configured in the HVR location properties, or when archive logs from Oracle RAC secondary nodes are not copied to the external archive path. When this happens, capture jobs cannot process the required archive logs.
