Error: F_JT0400: Log Scanning Error F_JZ1517

Issue

During capture, HVR stops and emits the following error:

F_JT0400: Log scanning error F_JZ1517. Non-Terminal page at block <block number> in Redo Logfile with sequence <sequence number> failed CRC test.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, do the following:

Skip the check by adding the action Environment to your capture location group with the following parameters:
- /Name=HVR_SCAN_IGNORE_CRC
- /Value=1
Select the Scripts and Jobs option.
Click Initialize.

It is not necessary to refresh.

Cause

The issue occurs when HVR is immediately behind the Oracle log writer, causing it to see blocks that are not fully written yet, causing the checksum test (CRC) to fail.
