hvrfingerprint
Usage
hvrfingerprint
Description
Command hvrfingerprint calculates and displays the fingerprint of the current host it is running on. A host fingerprint is an upper case letter followed by 6 decimal digits, such as P233198. This command should be used on the HVR Hub Server machine to learn its fingerprint.
- The fingerprint of an Azure virtual machine will be reported with letter 'M', e.g. M654321.
- The fingerprint of an Amazon EC2 virtual machine will be reported with letter 'A', e.g. A654321. Only the EC2 instance ID is used in this case for fingerprinting. The fingerprint stays the same even if the EC2 virtual machine migrates to different hardware.
In the User Interface, the fingerprint of the Hub Server host is displayed on page System under the Current Hub tab.
