Error: HTTP 401 Unauthorized

Issue

While setting up an Azure Event Hubs connection in Fivetran, the following error appears:

HTTP 401 Unauthorized

Resolution

To troubleshoot this issue:

1. Ensure your namespace-level Shared Access Policy is configured with the Manage scope. Fivetran requires this permission to list and discover Event Hubs during setup.
2. If your namespace uses firewall or virtual network restrictions, add the Fivetran IP addresses for the cloud provider and region where your connection runs. These may differ from the Azure region hosting your Event Hubs namespace.

Cause

This issue occurs when your Shared Access Policy lacks the required Manage scope or network restrictions block Fivetran from accessing the Event Hubs namespace.
