Error: Your MsSQL Source Is Not Reachable at This Time

Issue

Syncs fail with the following error message:

Your MsSql source is not reachable at this time. We'll retry the sync later.

Environment

Connector: SQL Server

Resolution

To troubleshoot this issue, do the following:

1. Ensure your SQL Server instance is running by contacting your IT or database administrator or using third-party tools.

2. Verify that firewall rules, VPN settings, or routing issues are not blocking the connection.

3. Review your connection configuration in Fivetran to ensure you've provided the correct details.

   i. In Fivetran, go to your SQL Server connection page.

   ii. Select the Setup tab.

   iii. Click Edit connection.

   iv. Review all fields and update as needed.

   v. If you have made any changes, click Save & Test.

Cause

This error occurs when we can't connect to your SQL Server instance due to server downtime, network restrictions, or invalid connection settings.
