Warning: Restore Detected
Issue
In Fivetran, the following warning appears:
Restore Detected. We have detected that your database was restored on <time_and_date>. The following tables began their import prior to this restore date. If the restoration has reverted your database to a state where the change tables (CDC or CT) were already processed by your connector, the data in your source tables may no longer be synchronized with the data in the destination.
Environment
Connector: SQL Server
Resolution
To resolve this issue, you must trigger a connection-level re-sync. To learn how, see How to Trigger Historical Re-Syncs for Fivetran Connections.
Cause
This issue occurs when Fivetran detects that your database has been restored to an earlier point in time. We determine this by comparing the database’s restoreHistory information with the timestamps of previously synced tables.
If any tables were last synced before the restore point, their change-tracking (CT) data may no longer reflect the current state of the source. Consequently, your destination data may be out of sync because previously processed changes may have been rolled back or lost during the restore. When this happens, you must re-sync your connection to rebuild the tables and ensure data consistency between your source and destination.
