Why Don't I Receive an Email When My SQL Server Connection Recovers?
Question
I receive emails about dropped SQL Server connections or connection errors. However, when the connection resumes syncing, I don't receive a follow-up email confirming that the connection was restored. Why?
Environment
Connector: SQL Server
Answer
This is expected behavior. Fivetran sends an email when a new error-level alert occurs, such as a dropped SQL Server connection. If a later retry succeeds and your connection resumes syncing, we don't send a recovery email.
To confirm that your connection has recovered, check the following in your Fivetran dashboard:
- The status and sync events in the Sync History chart.
- The Alerts page.
After a successful sync, we remove the error from the list of active alerts. For more information, see Alerts.
