SAML SSO Error: You Submitted a Request That We Don't Support
Issue
After saving a SAML configuration, the page reloads or returns without applying the updated values. The following error appears:
You submitted a request that we don't support.
Environment
Feature: SAML SSO configuration
Resolution
To resolve this issue:
Confirm that the Entity ID and Issuer values are not already associated with another Fivetran account in the same organization.
Create a dedicated SAML application in your identity provider for each Fivetran account. For more information, see Single Sign-On (SSO) Setup Guides.
Assign a unique Entity ID and Issuer, if applicable, to the SAML application associated with the affected account.
Update the SAML configuration in Fivetran:
i. Go to Account Settings > General.
ii. On the Account Settings tab, under SAML Config, update all applicable fields.
iii. Click Save.
Cause
This issue occurs when the Entity ID and Issuer values in the SAML configuration are already assigned to another account in the same organization. Each account, including the organization-level account and any child accounts, requires a dedicated SAML application with unique SAML identifiers. Unique identifiers prevent conflicts and ensure authentication requests are routed correctly.
