Error: Current Transaction ID Has Moved Backwards

Issue

The following error appears:

Current transaction ID has moved backwards.

Environment

Connector: PostgreSQL

Resolution

To resolve this issue, do the following:

1. In Fivetran, go to your PostgreSQL connector page.
2. Select the Setup tab.
3. Click Resync all historical data.
4. In the confirmation pop-up window, click Re-sync Connector.

Cause

This issue occurs when your database instance changes from primary to replica, from one replica to another, or when you migrate the database to a new server.
