Connection Methods
Connection methods define how Fivetran connects to your source or target database. For more information about the connection methods supported by Fivetran, see our Database Connection Options and Destination Connection Options documentation.
In the Connection Methods tab of the Fivetran dashboard, you can view and delete all Private Networking and Proxy Agent connection methods associated with your account.

Connection list
The connection list displays all connections created by you or other users in your account.
You can make adjustments to the Connections list view in the following ways:
Search the connection list by connection name using the search bar.
Filter the connection list by connection method:
- PrivateLink
- Proxy Agent
The numbers displayed inside the filter dropdown next to each option indicate the number of connections that use that connection method.
Sort the connection list by clicking the column headers.
Connection list columns
The connection list includes the following columns:
Name: Name of the connection.
Type: Connection method used by the connection. The possible values are PrivateLink or Proxy Agent.
State: Current status of the connection. Possible values:
- INITIATION
- OK
- UNMANAGED_OK
- FAIL
Cloud Region: Cloud region where Fivetran provisions and manages this connection method.
Created By: User who created the connection.
Created On: Date when the connection was created.
Service: Endpoint service (source or destination) that this connection method connects to.
Used by: Lists of Fivetran objects that reference this connection method.
- Shows the destination name if linked to a destination.
- For source-side PrivateLink or tunnel configurations, displays the connector(s) using it. If multiple connectors use the same connection method, it shows the count (for example, 3 connectors) with an option to expand and view the full list.
Delete connection
You can delete a connection method from the connection list using the delete icon in the last column of the row.
You cannot delete a connection method if it is being used by other Fivetran resources. The delete icon appears disabled when a connection method is in use.
