Azure Private Link Connection Error

Issue

After an Enterprise plan is upgraded to a Business Critical plan, connections using Azure Private Link fail setup tests with the following error:

Connecting to host: Connection error <PrivateLink>

Environment

• All database connectors
• Connection method: Azure Private Link

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

1. In Fivetran, go to your destination connection page.
2. In the top right, click the more options menu, then select Edit connection.
3. Update the Region to the region where your Azure Private Link exists.
4. Click Save & Test.

Cause

Fivetran may automatically change the destination's processing region after a plan change to enforce the current plan's platform limitations.

Azure Private Link connections are region-scoped. If the Fivetran processing region no longer matches the region where the Private Link endpoint was created, connection's can't reach the endpoint and fail setup tests.
