Error: Unable to Validate Setup

Issue

While setting up a PostgreSQL connection in Fivetran, the following error appears:

Unable to validate setup.

Environment

Connector: Azure Database for PostgreSQL

Resolution

Confirm where your PostgreSQL instance is hosted. If it is hosted on Render, continue using the PostgreSQL connector. If your PostgreSQL instance is hosted on Azure, use the Azure Database for PostgreSQL connector instead.

Cause

This issue occurs when Fivetran incorrectly identifies a non-Azure PostgreSQL database as Azure Database for PostgreSQL during setup validation. This can happen when the database configuration resembles an Azure-hosted PostgreSQL deployment.
