Can I Sync a New PostgreSQL Table From the Earliest Available WAL Log?
Question
Can I add a table to an existing connection, skip the historical sync, and sync changes from the earliest available write-ahead log (WAL)?
Environment
- Connector: PostgreSQL
- Incremental sync method: Logical replication
Answer
No, we don't support skipping the historical sync and syncing a newly added table from the earliest available WAL log.
When you add a table to an existing PostgreSQL connection, we perform a historical sync to load its existing data. We then use the WAL to capture incremental changes, including changes made during the historical sync.
